At The Rutledge Institute, we have always held a firm, guiding belief: quality education should be accessible to everyone. We know that the earliest years of a child’s life are the most formative, and we are dedicated to providing an environment where curiosity, creativity, and confidence can flourish. Today, we are thrilled to share that our mission is entering an exciting new chapter—one filled with more space, more opportunities, and more ways to learn.
A Reimagined Space for Our Little Learners
We are counting down the days until we open the doors to our brand-new home! Renovations are in the final stretch, and we cannot wait to unveil our updated and expanded facility.
Designed specifically with our students in mind, this reimagined space offers an environment where children can explore, play, and thrive. From spacious, sun-drenched classrooms to dedicated areas for discovery, our new home is built to inspire.
New for ’26-’27: Expanded Access & Opportunities
In line with our commitment to community accessibility, we are proud to announce that for the ’26-’27 academic year, we are offering 40 FULL scholarships to families in our community. These life-changing opportunities are made possible through the incredible generosity of Tom and Karen Rutledge.
Our goal is to foster a truly diverse learning environment. We are proud to accept subsidized care and warmly welcome full-paying families, ensuring our classrooms reflect the vibrant diversity of our community.
More Than Just a Classroom
Education at The Rutledge Institute is about nurturing the whole child. Our curriculum is designed to spark passions early, with enrichment programs that go beyond the basics:
- Birdie Basics Golf Program: Developing motor skills and focus.
- Swimming: Building confidence and safety in the water.
- Sign Language: Enhancing communication and inclusivity.
- Music & Art: Fostering creative expression.
Located on the beautiful PennWest California campus, our program operates year-round (Monday–Friday) to support the needs of working families.
Join Our Community
We are a partnership-based program. Our scholars—undergraduate students from the university—work alongside our teachers to ensure every child gets the personalized attention they deserve. In turn, we ask that parents/guardians stay involved through free quarterly workshops or volunteer activity, keeping our village strong.
Note: Students must be toilet-trained and available for our 9:00 AM circle time. While we operate year-round, we do offer flexible leave-of-absence options between June 1 and Labor Day.
Secure Your Spot Today!
With our new space nearly ready and scholarship opportunities available, spots are disappearing fast. Don’t miss out on the fresh start your little learner deserves. Come grow with us at The Rutledge Institute!
